Registration Policies

Refund Policy:
To receive a full refund, written notification MUST be submitted at least two weeks prior to the private lesson date. Cancellations within 0 to 13 days prior to the program will NOT receive a refund. If you need to transfer your session, we cannot guarantee a space will be available on another date. To change any reservation please email: info@capechalressailingcamp.com. No other refunds will be issued, and we are not able to reschedule missed days.
Weather Policy:
Hands on experiences are the best way to learn to sail, so our emphasis is on learning by doing. Children will be sailing 90% of the time (weather permitting). If there is inclement weather, we have sailing related activities in a sheltered area. We put a strong emphasis on daily attendance and being on time. Cape Charles Sailing Camp will close under any unsafe conditions with partial refund due to weather or any other unavoidable situation. Check website/ Facebook /instructor email for any closings.

Sailing Program Conduct Policy

  1. You are required to wear Life Jackets at all times beyond the sailing center fences and while on the water.
  2. You are required to wear closed toed shoes at all times, even while sailing. (example: crocs or water shoes)
    FLIP FLOPS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE!
  3. You are expected to be respectful of CCSC staff, grounds, and equipment, as well as your fellow campers.
  4. You are expected to behave appropriately with other campers.
  5. You need to listen to and follow your Instructors' directions; they are concerned for your safety and the safety of others.
  6. You must pass the given swim test and capsize recovery exercise.
  7. Offensive language of any type will NOT be tolerated.
  8. You should come to camp every day ready to get wet, go sailing, and have fun!
  9. I will respect the Chesapeake Bay and Cape Charles shores and the creatures that make them their home.

Sailing Liability and Hold Harmless Release

The Cape Charles Sailing Camp and its co-organizers are not responsible for lost or damaged personal property. All scheduled events are subject to change. I understand that no fees will be refunded or transferred unless a child is unable to participate due to an accident or illness per physician orders. Children's’ photos and quotes may be used for publicity purposes. The undersigned parent/guardian recognizes that an element of risk is involved in all water sports, including sailing. Therefore, to accept his/her child into Cape Charles Community Sailing LLC. (i.e. Cape Charles Sailing Camp), the undersigned parent/guardian covenants and agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Cape Charles Community Sailing LLC., Cape Charles Sailing Camp, and the Oyster Farm Marina its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, losses, damages, fees and liability growing out of or in any manner related to injury to a person or damage to any property arising out of or in anywise connected with the operation of the Cape Charles Community Sailing LLC. (i.e. Cape Charles Sailing Camp) or any activities, events on or the use of any facilities or equipment of Cape Charles Community Sailing LLC. (i.e. Cape Charles Sailing Camp) and Oyster Farm Marina. I grant full permission for Cape Charles Community Sailing LLC. (i.e. Cape Charles Sailing Camp) to use photographs of my enrolled child in the legitimate accounts and promotion of this class. During allotted program time, I allow my child permission to walk to other businesses in marina, such as the Marina Shop and Marina Pool. Certification of Swimming Skills, I/We the undersigned parents or legal guardian does hereby certify our child can swim unaided for 40 yards and tread water and that a swimming test is required for participation in the camp. Parental Agreement , I/We understand that I/we are responsible for our child’s or grandchild’s behavior and conduct while at the Cape Charles Community Sailing LLC. (i.e. Cape Charles Sailing Camp) and will see to it that our child adheres to the program rules. I/We agree to assume the obligation for expenses of repair and/or replacement of program equipment that is attributed to our child’s reckless or irresponsible behavior and the expense of medical care if our child is injured. I/We agree to make an appointment for a parent/instructor or coach conference if requested. In case of an emergency, and if a legal guardian cannot be reached, I hereby authorize my child to be treated by Certified Emergency Personnel (i.e. EMT, First Responder, and/or Physician).
